#41

There are no indications that denturlsm has adversely affected dentists' incomes or workloads. Between 1963 and 1968, dentists' net incomes increased 459 on average in all of Canada; net incomes increased 53% in Alberta and 40% in British Columbia where denturism was legal. Mean and median net incomes were above the figures for all of Canada in these provinces, both per year and per hour. Dentists in these provinces worked the lowest number of chair hours of all the provinces: dentists in Alberta worked the lowest number of hours in total, while those in British Columbia were slightly below the median in total number of hours worked. The portion of dentists reporting that they were too busy increased and the portion wanting more patients decreased in British Columbia in 1968 over 1963; the opposite was reported in Alberta. However, the number of additional patients wanted by under worked dentists in British Columbia was substantially higher than in Alberta.
